Recently one of our dogs had a litter of puppies. She birthed 14 and 8 survived. I was not raised around lots of dogs and litters and puppies so this was a very big thing to me. It was the second time since living in the Caribbean that I have such a miraculous opportunity.
The 3-week-old puppies are a short walk, through what seems like an obstacle course to get to but, I always make sure to check on them, to love on them and to assist in Mommy care in any way I can.
One evening while already in bed there was a very big down pour of rain. I said to my partner that the puppies need to be checked. He said, “right now? Are you crazy?” I waited for a bit of time, but I could clearly see in my minds eye that one of the tiniest puppies was completely soaked and shivering. As the rain let up a bit I grabbed dry towels and headed to their shelter. Sure enough the little runt was completed soaked and sitting alone and shivering. She was the only one wet. I took care of her, dried the floor and placed the clean, dry towels down and put the dried puppy to the mommy’s breast and she began to feed and get loved on.
The next morning and another downpour hit. This time I checked in with my intuition and I felt that everything was completely fine. As I laid in my warm, cozy bed I heard my partner yell up the stairs, I am going to check the puppies. He returned in a very short time saying that they were all still warm and sleeping with Mommy.
The third downfall hit in late morning I got a sick feeling in my stomach. As the first down pour slowed my stepson and I ran to the shelter. Two puppies were soaked, including the tiniest and her barely bigger sister. All the others were pouncing around playing. We held the little wet puppies, dried them and loved on them, did some fast temporary repairs to the shelter and headed back to the house for the next downpour.
The point I am making is this, as we connect with other’s energies (with puppies, humans, or even plants) we create a bond and can begin to pick up on the energy when it is off or gets disconnected. As we hone our skills we become stronger, more confident and less drama can affect us and interfere with our intuition.
I am blessed to play this intuition game with puppies but the game can be played with friends too. Trusting your gut leads to better decisions, faster change in life and less drama. Learn to trust yours.
